Admiring the god Mani

Tonight I sit waiting for my youngest son to complete his football (soccer) practice, I looked to the night sky and noticed the Norse god Mani. Being mostly revealed in his waning gibbous stage, he beckons me to note his patience and understanding. Mani represents the balance with his sister Sol (the Sun), bringing the necessity for illumination into our lives. While the light energy brings knowledge and intellect, the dark brings the desire to learn even more.
We all know that darkness is not “bad” or “evil”, but instead represents the quest for intellect, experiences, and ultimately, wisdom that we all embrace, either knowingly or not. It is the introduction of the questions contained within the dark energy that he brings that should create a thirst for the same experiences that Ódinn sought at the “Well of Úrd”, which allows to fully embrace our experiences of this plane of existence.
I felt myself drawn into an understanding of the balance that we all seek, myself included. A balance between that of accepting the offered intellect, and that of a quest for even more. A cycle that repeats itself throughout our lives, offering us endless opportunities to seek the same experiences and wisdom that our ancestors did. A connection to home.
