I first became aware of my prophetic gifts at nine years old when I predicted a bird would poop on me (yes, it’s true! It happened just a few seconds later). Since then, I’d often have visions that would quickly come true. However, I didn’t have the opportunity or resources to develop my intuition further. Growing up in a conservative Christian family, I was told such powers were evil or “witchcraft,” so I dismissed my intuitive hits for YEARS. Ignoring my spiritual gifts without channeling them appropriately led to severe anxiety, suicidal depression, and chronic illness because I wasn’t living in alignment with my life purpose.
Fast forward to my twenties when I hit rock bottom in the emergency room with a panic attack. This was the unfortunate result of repeatedly trying to force my soul into the box of the “American Dream.” Go to school, get good grades, get a good job with excellent pay and even better benefits, and everything will be fine, right? I knew something had to change, but not knowing where to turn, I quit my job and started down the wrong path of New Age spirituality.
