As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. Othala – “Its psychological meaning is ancestral spiritual power. Its energy is a utopia, paradise, the gift of Ing, heaven on earth, and inheritance. In divination, it means productive interaction, freedom, group order, group prosperity, or home.

Present Influences

Uruz – “Its energy is organic structuring, manifestation, endurance, healing, survival, raw primal power, archetypal patterning, and vital formative force. When it appears in a divination reading, it could mean understanding, pragmatic knowledge, health, luck, pattern, tenacity, vitality, constancy, and strength.

Future Influences

Tiwaz – “Its psychological meaning is righteousness, spiritual warrior, and honor. Its energy is the right decision making, sovereign order, and sacrifice. When it appears in divination, it means even-handedness, honesty, victory, analysis, self-sacrifice, rationality, justice, loyalty, and faith.

Each morning, I engage in prayer, or communion with my gods. Each day they offer me wisdom and knowledge, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with me that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my engagements throughout the years, and especially lately, engaging me in a multitude of ways. To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Othala. Othala is the rune that connects us to our ancestral, spiritual power and offers us a connection to the gods. The rune itself means home, therefore by it being in our past, we may have discovered where our heart is, as our home is wherever our heart is. This emotional grounding offers us insights as to our intrinsic values and ethics that make us who we are. The drawing of Othala today should excite within the power of “ing”, or action toward our destiny.  

 

Our present influence is that of Uruz. Uruz represents the organic structuring of our lives, living authentically to who we were born to be. The energy of manifestation, and healing make this a wonderful rune to have in our present, indicating that it may be a time to heal and manifest the appropriate energy necessary to move us along our path of discovery. Uruz reveals that we are currently obtaining an understanding of who we are and forming a pragmatic knowledge as to what that means in the interactivity with our reality. By remembering the love of the ancestors from our past, we carry forth the knowledge that they are will us during each step we take.  

 

To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Tiwaz. Tiwaz represents the Norse god of courage and justice, Tyr. Looking at this from the future perspective, we can see a series of right decision making, and sacrifices laying the groundwork for a brighter, happier future. Tiwaz in our future indicates that honor, justice, and loyalty to ourselves will be a part of this brighter future that we are moving toward. Be courageous in your belief of yourself and your understandings, for the ancestral spirits will energize your path for you.

I personally find it comforting that we are being informed to retain the power of Sowilo as we move forward, for Sowilo carries the understanding of our “Life’s Purpose” with it, in addition to hope and guidance as to how we can get there. Its energy is that of action, and motivation, meaning that once we have obtained, and secured our understanding of our life’s purpose, the drive to accomplish the things necessary will come with it.
