As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Each morning, I engage in conversation with my gods. During which they offer me wisdom and guidance, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my experiences throughout the years, and especially over the last several decades, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s talks. However, as I offer you the wisdom given to me, I encourage you to seek the answers within yourself, as each of us travels a different path, therefore our perspectives are a little different. 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Algiz, the rune of listening. Throughout your past we find a multitude of experiences when you have settled yourself enough to actively listen to information provided by others. You have struggled with this skill, and although may have heard much conveyed, you may not have a full understanding as to the implications that this information has brought you.

Our present influence is that of Mannaz, the rune of the rational mind. Mannaz in our present indicates that we may be currently struggling with believing that which cannot be touched. Recognizing that a great portion of our existence is outside the physical realm, before and after this physical lifetime is a much larger understanding than you may have, but remember the universe only provides that which we can handle.

To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Kenaz, the rune of humility. Our journey within this physical lifetime is but just beginning, regardless how much time has passed. Understanding that we will constantly be in a state of learning, and that mastery will never fully manifest itself, as we should always be seeking to learn. Kenaz represents the arrival of new information, potentially complimenting what you have gained already. 

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Thurisaz. Thurisaz reveals the necessity of enthusiasm within our physical lifetime, a zest for life’s experiences. To be constrained to the safety of the sidelines is to miss the emotional journey we will engage upon to fully realize our greatest gift to existence, feelings. Feelings truly represent a different perspective that the cosmos waits for you to provide.
