As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Odinn’s Rune – “Further prayer or meditation is necessary.”

Hagalaz – “It could mean an inner harmony, completion, corrections, controlled crisis, changes for the long-term good, change according to ideals.”

Tiwaz  – “It could mean even-handedness, honesty, victory, analysis, self-sacrifice, rationality, justice, loyalty, and faith.”

Each morning, I engage in prayer, or communion with my gods. Each day they offer me wisdom and knowledge, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with me that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my engagements throughout the years, and especially lately, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s prayers. 

 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn Perthro. Today as we gaze into our past, the rune Perthro reminds us (as does the prophecy), of recognizing the patterns of existence. The energy we are receiving from this rune today indicates the unborn, or the unmanifested. Recognizing the intellect, we have within us from our previous experiences, the rune suggests that we may be undertaking a path to evolutionary change, and that there are good omens about the future. Today Perthro reveals to us the power of fellowship and encourages us to seek that out.

 

Our present influence is that of “Odinn’s Rune”. Odinn’s Rune requires that we ponder more deeply that which will influence our current position in this thing we call time. Odinn spent an existence searching for the experiences necessary to achieve wisdom within his mind. So too must we embrace each and every moment of our physical lifetime that we may recognize the gift that it is. The growth and learning that is only possible during a physical existence offers us insight into the hearts and minds of many that will come after us. We must embrace each moment.

 

To reveal our future influences, we have drawn Hagalaz, the rune of chaos. Today, the rune Hagalaz suggests the opposite of chaos in our future, an order, or inner harmony. Recognizing the lessons of our previous experiences we call upon a control to the crisis within our physical existence, forging the changes within our life for long-term good. Although Hagalaz represents the chaos within existence, it is only through an understanding and recognition of chaos can we ever hope to achieve a resemblance of order and peace.

 

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the Tiwaz, the rune of the Norse god Tyr. The god Tyr represents the spiritual warrior within each of us, and symbolizes the righteousness that we embody in our quest for honor. Honor, not glory. We seek, and should continue to seek, that which is just and right, and be ready to provide more of the self, sacrificed to assist our fellow life forms move to their next level of enlightenment. For one of our truest traits is that of loyalty. Now, is the time to embrace this trait even more tightly as we move forward.
