Our present rune reminds us that our present is what we make it, therefore predicting that an event will be perceived poorly will cause the event to be received poorly. During the additional prayer it was revealed to me that we are responsible for laying the path stones of our future steps along our journey. If we choose to lay stones beneath the thorns, then we will set the path to that of pain. However, if we choose to lay the stones atop the thorns, then only missteps along the stones will cause pain. Be cognizant of the mindset we keep, remain positive of our future. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Ansuz, the rune of listening. As we consider our trajectory, we must retain an open mind toward all the opportunities the gods offer us. To retain this open mind, we must be willing to eliminate our ego and fully engage into the listening to the world around us.  Fully engaging indicates that our ego is removed from our mental processing allowing for our truth to be fully heard.

Throughout our past we have seen dreams pass through our periphery that we may not have understood, yet there are still lessons to be learned from them. As today Laguz presents cautions for us to consider when absorbing these lessons of the past. We need to exercise this caution in ensuring that we retain one foot on the ground as we are reaching for the stars, as there are some among us who wish to carry these lessons of our past beyond their functional limits. If the lesson has been learned, move on. Our present influence reveals Berkano. As we reveal the rune of the present, we are reminded of the birth of the new you. Each experience we absorb into our consciousness alters our trajectory a small amount. These alterations will accumulate up to a large deviation from the path we had originally desired, however, instead of fighting our way back to the original path, we should open our mind to the potential that exists where we are. Take some time to determine who exactly we are, and where we want to go in this life, and focus on enjoying the journey. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Mannaz, and today it cautions us of our future.  While the rune typically is of the perfected intelligence, today it warns us of believing that our lessons apply to anyone else, as if setting expectations that everyone travels the same journey. We must be open to transmitting our intellect, however removing any temptation to control or manipulate others to believe exactly as you do will be a critical key to our successful management of our mental health. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Jera, the rune of the season. Maintaining our understanding that everything happens within our lifetime at the only time that you are capable of experiencing it if a critical understanding to managing the threats to our mental health. While we may experience many different variants of a particular event, the universe will only provide those experiences we are capable of dealing with, even if they may seem very difficult, you are completely capable.

While some of our previous experiences may have created chaos within our thought process and emotional states, we have now discovered a path to the joining of ourselves in an effort toward wholeness. Discovering our life’s purpose should offer us some recognition of the energy of hope, and its capabilities to guide us toward the future, hopefully offering us some faith in the outcome. Our present influence reveals Thurisaz, the rune of enthusiasm. Today, in our present we are revealed the rune of enthusiasm with cautions, for there exists a balance between the offering of wisdom and the enforcement of it. While our journey has offered us many experiences that have provided some lessons, we must remember that these lessons have been for our benefit and growth, and will not fit to everyone else. Each traveler is somewhere along their path, and while the wider vision may be similar, the individual steps of our path are different. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Inguz. While the future path may include many turns that we are incapable of predicting today, our goal of joining our parts (that of spiritual and physical) cannot be overstated. However, we must also remember that to obtain enlightenment we must understand the filters in which our heart and mind interpret those experiences we have. To fully embrace this, spending time in meditation and intrinsic reflection offers us the step in which to elevate ourselves up the stairway of our existence. As we move forward in our trajectories, we must remember that wishful thinking is perfectly acceptable, it must be accompanied by "real-world" action steps forward. We must never forget the lessons of our past which may have included betrayal, alienation, strife, deception, or the blindness of danger.  It is acceptable to have our "heads in the clouds", as long as we remember to keep "our feet on the ground."

Having Ansuz being revealed within our past defines the mental stability we may have obtained by using our experiences as inspiration and guidance to make future path choices. This is the way we should travel, while not look over one’s shoulder, we should remember the lessons of the past, while keeping the reminder that we don’t leave of trail of potential from the rear attacks. By dealing head-on with the negative energies of our past we can look forward knowing that our past has no power over our future. Our present influence reveals Gebo, the rune of appreciation. With Gebo appearing in our present, this indicates that we are well on our way to embracing the graciousness toward the universe for the lessons and growth provided through our past experiences. With the inclusion of gratitude in our mindset, a divine connection can be established allowing a magical interchange between the deities and ourselves. By including the graciousness in our prayers and energy, we open a whole new world of possibilities, including one without the guilt or shame from the past. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Kenaz, and today it offers us warning as to understanding the journey. Our future will need to be closely monitored to ensure we don’t fall over the other end, for as we learn our path, we may be led to believe it is the absolute right path, when in fact, it is the absolute right path, for us. Each individual has their own journey. Their own decisions, and certainly their own past, that they must come to terms with to fully understand the lessons offered. Be careful that we do not become arrogant, or experience a form of elitism, because while we are the best version of ourselves, we are only the best versions of us, and no one else. Today, the runes reveal that we should be experiencing a combination of both parts of the selves joining together in unity and harmony. This is a magical state to find ourselves in as it allows us to seek the infinite knowledge from the universe, while experiencing physical events through our sensory input. Let this rune be a reminder that we should constantly focus to remain in balance between the two halves of our existence, for this truly does afford us the best view of the spiritual realm around us.

Being revealed in our past, Ehwaz indicates that throughout our past experiences it has been many times that the faith in our friends, our family, and others has carried the weight of worry forward. Now is the time to be gracious and offer these support columns our gratitude for being a part of our support system as we have learned and grown throughout. It also represents the trust we have had in ourselves to achieve the victory over our past. Our present influence reveals Sowilo, the rune of wholeness. Sowilo in our present reveals that we are now accomplishing a deeper look into ourselves. Throughout the trials and tribulations, we have endured of our past, we have reached the point where are focus is turning more intrinsically now. Being willing and able to work with the cosmic energies will afford us an opportunity to discover our true life’s purpose. It brings an awareness of the journey, and just as importantly, the destination on the horizon. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Mannaz, and today it offers us warning as to understanding the journey. Today Mannaz cautions us about becoming arrogant in the wisdom provided by the spirits as it has been a gift to each of us. While processing the information in a relational way within the mind offers us great potential to embracing new knowledge, we must remember that this information may, or may not, be in alignment with other’s journeys. Offer without any expectations of compliance. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Uruz, the rune of manifestation. According to the runes, the revelatino of Uruz in our "bedrock" position indicates that we should remember that our journey requires a lot of tenacity, constancy, strength, and a little dash of luck. It reminds us that although we have the strength and skill to accomplish much, the gods may, or may not, grant us additional favor, therefore we need to be prepared to put our shoulder into the stone to acquire the flour.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Dagaz, the rune of the enlightenment. Dagaz represents the paradigm shift within our perspective of the experiences we have had in the past. While it is easy to identify perceived failures within our past, the value to our forward trajectory is nil. Learning the lessons of emotional interaction with the self, and with others, is a very powerful part of our physical existence and needs to be embraced. Creating a positive memory from the past experiences is the best way to move ourself forward in our evolution. Our present influence reveals Odinn’s Rune. Odinn’s Rune requires additional communication through prayer or channeling the god’s desires for us to know. Today Odinn has enlightened me to understanding that I alone, control the way in which I look at the reality unfolding around me. By determining my desired mindset, I can direct the generated energy of the emotional process within me to alter the outcome to my will. Odinn reminds me that by remembering my intrinsic values (or virtues) I can define the interpretation my mind makes of the experiences I have. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Perthro. In today’s reading Perthro indicates a prophecy is being played out here in our physical existence. The reminder we are given about the prophecy here is that there is nothing we can do to alter the completion of the prophecy, for even if we do something out-of-character, the prophecies have already foretold of this state. It is better for us to simply understand fully the path that the prophecy sets, and move in that direction, for like many other things in our lives, prophecies are milestones along our journey through existence. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Fehu, the rune of new beginnings. Fehu, being the first rune of the alphabet, reveals the energy of abundance. We should maintain the freedom within the mind to make choices between the paths of our lifetimes based on what experiences we have. Being willing and able to accept the challenges of path changes throughout our lives should be an elemental force in our existence. We have the control of our perspective and should manipulate it as we need to finding peace along the way.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Raidho, the rune of the origin. Raidho represents the "from" in our lifetime journey of learning. It recognizes the cosmic cyclic law of rhythm. In today’s reading, it represents the lessons we have learned from our experiences before today, arriving at this point in time where we can make a conscious decision as to which path we will travel on moving forward. Although our journey is not "already decided upon" many of the influences we will recognize offer us known and unknown opportunities. Our present influence is that of Jera, the rune of the seasons. Today, Jera in our present, reminds us that the experiences we have in this lifetime are provided when we are ready to see them, and each experience is provided for a particular reason. As the inhale almost forces the exhale, the winter drives the summer, there is a rhythm to our experiences and the deities will provide them when our mindset has been adjusted enough to see them. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Berkano. In today’s reading Berkano cautions us about our future. While the rune, within the context of this warning of our future alerts us to energies of negativity, like insecurity, conspiracy, stagnation, and others, by offering us the visibility of the potential of these energies within our existence, we have the opportunity to alter the course of our trajectory thereby avoiding them. Our present reminds us of these paths that we can choose from, where we decide which path to take. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Ihwaz, the rune of the divine feminine. We should remember there we alone control the energies within our mind, which then drives the recognition of emotional states. Ihwaz reveals the protection and endurance provided by the inclusion of an understanding of the spiritual energy around us. As Ihwaz also highlights this "movement toward enlightenment", each step we take in our physical life assists us in absorbing spiritual energy, ultimately achieving this enlightenment.
