In ancient Norse legends, the god Mani could be seen as the moon in the night sky. Like the moon, Mani offered a balance to the intellect provided by his sister Sol, the sun, as light and warmth. He became the balance of the days, bringing the cool of the evening, at the same time the unillumination of the night. He represents the balance between the intellect flow and the desire to know more.
