As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Thurisaz (Inverted)- “Psychologically it represents male sexual prowess, struggles against unconsciousness, and enthusiasm. Its energy is destructive storms, breaker of resistance, active defensive force, chaos, self-empowerment, and enthusiasm. When Thurisaz appears in a divination reading, it means constructive conflict, regenerative catalyst, vital eroticism, directed forced, or reactive force. Ihwaz – “The psychological meaning is kundalini, the timeless, and death mysteries. Its energy is the chakra system, immortality, encoding, secrecy, and an axis of heaven-earth-hell. If Ihwaz appears in divination, it could mean protection, initiation, endurance, and movement toward enlightenment. 

Future Influences
Ehwaz – “Its psychological meaning is sexuality and trust between individual beings. Its energy is cooperation and trust. When it shows up in divination, it means friends, loyalty, marriage, trust, teamwork, and harmony.

Mannaz – “Its psychological meaning is perfected intelligence, rational mind, development of the intellect, the difference between humans and other life, and mind and memory. Its energy is the projection of self into time, and the psychic order of the gods. When it appears in divination, it means divine influence in life, social order, awareness, intelligence, sustainability, and divine structure.

Each morning, I engage in prayer, or communion with my gods. Each day they offer me wisdom and knowledge, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with me that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my engagements throughout the years, and especially lately, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s prayers.

 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Thurisaz in an inverted position. As it has presented itself in an inverted position, we are being offered cautions from the gods. These cautions identify the previous experiences of strife, annoyance, disease, betrayal, and defensiveness, as states of mind we need to leave behind, they do not offer us any value on our forward trajectory. The memories of these emotional states lie heavily on our heart as we look to shed that state moving forward, and we must teach ourselves the lessons of leaving these behind. Be one with yourself, and learn to love who you are and what you’ve become, for you truly are a gift to this existence.   

 

Our present influence is that of Ihwaz. Ihwaz is the rune of the Kundalini or divine feminine energy source. As such, in our present influential space, we see the protection of the mind, initiating in a new period of expansion for our mind, which will lead to our enlightenment. Remember my friends, enlightenment means expanding one’s consciousness to the point where it connects with both the physical and spiritual minds at the same time. The more we can connect these two together, the more in balance we become, and the more in control of our emotional state we become. Seek out the energy of the divine feminine, for it leads the way with love and peace.

 

To reveal our future influences, we have drawn Ehwaz, and it is in an upright position. Ehwaz is the rune of trust. By revealing this rune in the future influential space, we know that our future path of growth relies on establishing trust. Both trust in the spirits, and in ourselves to expose our deepest emotional connections, that we may associate freely with the spirits of the ancestors. Leaving behind the doubt and uncertainty of modern-day, we can find ourselves shedding those unwanted values that no longer serve us in our quest to our destiny of enlightenment.

 

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Mannaz in an upright position. Mannaz represents the perfected intelligence, or rational mind. Therefore in the position that it has been revealed, we know that we need to keep both feet on the ground as to our experiences of existence. While we are seeking enlightenment within our heart and mind, there remains the requirement of practical application of connecting this expansive infinity of intellect into our everyday life. It is therefore a necessity of keeping our wits about us as we journey further down our spiritual path. 

 

Today’s Affirmation

The runes today have revealed that a wonderful journey has begun and we are on our way to enlightenment of the consciousness. With our past issuing us cautions to purge those old feelings of distrust, and strife, releasing that energy to allow ourselves the opportunity to fill that void with positive, light energy. Love yourself.  Currently coming into our thought processing is the necessary harmony produced within the kundalini. This brings to us the power of the divine feminine, which harnesses the energy of creation and the over-powering emotion of love. We need to open ourselves to this energy and allow it to flow through us. It is powerful, and will heal those wounds of our past, freeing our mind to begin a new journey toward our enlightenment. Our future rune is that of trust, which reveals that trust will become a central necessity in our future. Extending our trust to others, as well as trusting ourselves to become more closely aligned to our “congruent line” within our authentic space. Learning to trust others can sometimes be difficult, especially when we struggle to trust ourselves. Let go of those doubts and uncertainty, embrace the rational mind, while allowing the energy of the divine feminine to pass through us. This is the way to enlightenment. Remember, we are part brain which does our thinking, and part heart, which does our feeling.
