As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Odinn’s Rune – “it requires more prayer to fully understand its influence.”

Present Influences
Perthro (Inverted) – “It could mean unknowability, fantasy, delusion, loneliness, stagnation, emotional or psychological addictions, or doom.”

Future Influences
Algiz – “It could mean protection, higher life, awakenings, or connection to the gods. “

Bedrock (things to remain)
Inguz – “It could mean time for oneself, expectation, internal growth, gestation, or resting.

Each morning, I engage in prayer, or communion with my gods. Each day they offer me wisdom and knowledge, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with me that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my engagements throughout the years, and especially lately, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s prayers.

 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn Odinn’s Rune. Because Odinn’s rune does not have any markings on it, this is indicative as to having a clean slate to begin to fill with a new life. Today, after additional prayer to the gods, Odinn has told me that we need to focus on leaving the past behind. We must recognize that there is nothing we can do to alter the experiences we have had, but, by learning from those lessons, we can move forward in a more aligned way.

 

Our present influence is that of Perthro, the rune of prophecy. Perthro in our present, in an inverted state indicates cautions should be applied to our everyday life. Ensuring that we retain the balance between our knowledge and our imagination, and being willing to try new experiences, even if we are doubtful at first. Perthro warns us of stagnation, and delusional thinking, and continues by warning us about removing the lack of knowledge.

 

To reveal our future influences, we have drawn Algiz, and today it reveals its energies of the Valkyries. Today Algiz demonstrates our connection to the gods, and real-world awakenings to the much larger experience we call life. Algiz calls us to a higher life, beginning a journey on the upper roadways that will lead us to the upper rooms of our existence. A very powerful rune, it offers us hope that we will conquer the day and arrive at those experiences we haven’t had.

 

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Inguz. Inguz is the rune of wholeness, it offers us an understanding of our journey through this lifetime, through personal development, effectively managing our inner-child to grow properly. Inguz calls us to mediation where we can rest, recover, and take time for oneself to heal the wounds of the psychological war we have been fighting. 

 

Today’s Affirmation
