Isa – “It could mean the unity of being, self-control, ego-consciousness, or concentrated self.”

Thuriaz (Inverted) – “It could mean strife, annoyance, explosive violence, disease, dullness, betrayal, compulsion, defenselessness, or danger.”

Jera – “It could mean timing, proper, peace, plenty, and reward for positive action.”

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Othala, and in today’s reading it is in an inverted state, which typically indicates that we should exercise some caution. Although Othala connects us to our ancestral spiritual powers, we must be cautious to focus on not excluding our other spiritual connections because of this. Remembering that blood is not nearly as valuable as love between peoples. While in an inverted state Othala reminds us when we were ostracized for our beliefs and the intrinsic emotional states that caused. Now we must be vigilant to not foster that emotional energy with those around us. Any level of division must be left in the past, focusing our energy on unity instead.
 
Our present influence is that of Isa, the rune of ice. However, this rune today indicates that we should focus on our self-worth, for we are truly valuable to the universe, as well as the spirits around us every minute of the day. Isa typically indicates the unity of the self, merging our spiritual and physical selves through an expanded consciousness that can now connect the two sides. Isa informs us that we need to take some extended time to reveal the deepest parts of the self. Become one with who we really are, down deep beyond the ego and bravado. By exercising our cognitive space within our mind, we can apply some order to the chaos of energy absorption.
 
To reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Thuriaz and today it is presented in an inverted position. While typically an inverted state would indicate caution, today it indicates more of a reminder that there will always be controversial energies that challenge what we know and feel. To ensure our peaceful trajectory, we must remember that we along control the energy within our mind to determine our path. We have all the authority necessary to alter our path the way we see fit, navigating the waters of uncertain emotional turmoil, to arrive at the shores of peace and love. Thuriaz provides an intrinsic energy source to break through the negative influences in our lives and remain in harmony and peace.
 
To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Jera. Today, Jera is reminding us that all things intersect with our experience of existence at the proper time, and at the proper place. It reminds us that life, like our breath, comes in and goes out. It is cyclic by its very nature. Unrelenting, but steady. In the same way the stream has flows and eddy’s, so too does our existence as we experience both: what we have “planned”, as well as the interactions with others around us, who have their own agenda and trajectory. Jera promises us that the sun will rise tomorrow, and that there is always the magical energy of hope. 
 
The runes today remind us of a past that has been filled with experiences which have altered our perspective of the reality in which we are currently passing through. They speak of time with the self to reflect on these life lessons and implement the changes that we can extract from them, while remembering our own self-worth and value to the existence of the cosmos. The further we can deepen our foundation of thought, the more resistant it becomes against the never-ending negative influences of humankind. It reminds us that everything that occurs within our experience of reality has been properly planned for and anticipated to bring us additional experiences to learn from.
