According to the legends of the Norse that I have come to know, the “Fates” were three sisters that represented the existence of humanity. These three sisters, although not gods themselves, were relied on by the gods as keepers of the structure of existence. We read in the sagas where the Norse god Ó∂inn sought them out that he might trade a physical eye to drink from the well in which they resided, the well of Úrd.
These three sisters, the eldest, Úrd, dictated the length of our physical existence. She also represented the past of existence, as the eldest, she retained the intellectual majority of all of existence. She would communicate the length of our bond to our spiritual consciousness prior to it bonding with our physical self, or biological body, which is contained entirely on the physical realm. This length of time that was assigned to our union was agreed to by both her and our spiritual consciousness, prior to the bonding. Now, although there was an agreed upon timeframe, there were still outside factors that could alter this length of time.
The middle sister, Skáld would interact with us when our consciousness let go of the bond to our physical form. She represented our present, as she had the ability to interact with our spiritual consciousness as it arrived in the spiritual realm. As our consciousness slipped from its earthly bindings, imagery of the Nornir sister, Skáld would present itself within our third-eye, or spiritual visualization input. Her role in our existence is to evaluate our life’s emotional responses to determine which eternal hall in which our spirit would reside until the Armageddon, Ragnorök. Her assessment of our emotional responses, in addition to her intimate knowledge with each of the great halls (according to Norse legends), allowed her to match our trajectory to our future, continued growth within one of these halls.
The baby sister of these Nornir sisters is Verdandi, who would stitch a tapestry demonstrating our emotional responses to the many experiences that we encounter during our physical existence. She represented the future, and our interpretation of the future was dictated by what we had come to understand from our past. Although the tapestry did not demonstrate the actual experience we had, it detailed our emotional state before, during, and after, the event itself. This tapestry displayed our alignment to our “authentic self” as we responded to these events in the only manner our balanced physical/spiritual minds knew how to do based on the virtues established within this authentic self. Verdandi’s observation of our existence relied on her monitoring the state of our aura. For as you may recall, our aura displays both our mental and our emotional states to the spiritual realm.
Whether you subscribe to the Norse legends or not, we must recognize the importance of our emotional responses to the experiences we have. As I have been shown, the conquests and victories we encounter in our physical existence are not as important to our evolutionary self as our emotional management and responses. This calls to our attention as to whether we react with pure emotion, or apply a small amount of cognitive thought to respond accordingly. This is truly the measure of our life’s trajectory. Being able to apply this cognitive thinking to our experiences that we may learn the lessons of the event and its influence, thereby affording us the opportunity to respond accordingly in an effort to promote those universal cornerstones of love, and harmony.
Understanding the Norse explanation of the confines of our physical existence, this leaves us to ponder “the dash”. The amount of experiences between the binding of our selves, to the departure of our spiritual self at the conclusion of our biological life form. The dash represents what humanity refers to as “time” between our birth and our death. Our dash, and our interpretation of all the emotional experiences we have during this “time” depends completely on how we perceive the experiences we have. There are many outside factors that could affect our longevity, included the wars of humanity, and the negative energies within others around our existence could severely alter that agreed upon timeframe, and cause the separation from our physical form. As humanity has continued to foster the negative energies of disease, we find our lifetime being threatened from all sides, there is very little guaranteed to the bound entities of the spiritual realm.
However, there is much that we can do to keep the negative energies away from our physical mind, for the negativity has little or no effect on those who have a balance within the mind between the physical and spiritual selves. This balance is obtained and maintained by mindfully managing the energies that are allowed to enter into our thought process. By utilizing the dark energy attached to every particle of energy received by the spirit, we possess the authority in which we can illuminate it in a positive way, thereby neutralizing the negativity and minimizing any influence it might have on our thought processes, and certainly our emotional states. This process can convert any received negativity to either a neutral, or positive energy source at which to maintain a positive mental space.
Mindful management. Many wonder about how we provide mindful management of our thought processes, and although there are many general guidelines for doing this, each of our journeys through a physical existence is different and therefore need some unique alterations to any intellect received on the subject. Generally speaking, self-managed meditation is a powerful tool in obtaining this managerial role within our thought processes, thereby controlling the release of chemical hormones within our physical form, thereby controlling our emotional states and their influence. By taking control of the energy influences received either by the physical sensory input, or our spiritual connection (many times during our dream states) we can manage which energies we allow in, and more importantly, which ones we don’t. As our physical mind begins this process of denying influential energies within the mind, we turn our trajectory onto a path of experiences that we have chosen, we become the master of our destiny.
Consider using the tool of meditation to seriously ponder our responses to the influential energies affecting us each and every day. By using meditation, we can detail our understanding our momentary emotional states that our mind processes. This affords us the opportunity to effectively manage these energies, taking back the control of the energies that drive our thought processes.
